Boris Teilant of Atlanpole presented an overview of the blue economy covering everything from ports and renewable energy to tourism and aquaculture. The ocean is a huge resource! “Biodiversity in the ocean involves 10-100 million species – it is assumed that we know more about the moon than we do about our seas”. Nadia Laabs, COO of SafetyNet Technologies, discussed how light technology can ensure fishermen catch the right fish every time, reducing fines and increasing the sustainability of the fish stock. Audrie Jordan, Commercial Director of GEPS Techno presented sustainable autonomous marine energy platforms.
